a little inspiration

As I mentioned yesterday, I have been blessed to have a number of new customers contacting me recently. When I started my little Etsy shop, I didn't really know where it would take me. I simply thought that it would be great if it could help me with a little extra cash.  

In the past three months, the wedding-related items have really taken off. Which, I will admit, still kind of amazes me. Mostly because I have never wanted the big wedding. I figured if that day came, having family and close friends on a beach somewhere sounded perfect. The idea of not having to plan anything... amazing, especially when I spend my days planning corporate events.

Since I have been working with several brides and bridesmaids, though, I have found myself looking through wedding blogs, magazines, Pinterest boards, and StyleMePretty has become a daily visit.  Even though I don't want the elaborate wedding, I do love finding inspiration for new designs by seeing what others have chosen for their big day.  Still most of all, I have loved working directly with a few brides to create a custom design for her wedding.  To get even more in the spirit, I created my own little inspiration board.  

Do you have a wedding inspiration board on Pinterest or another site to share?  Send it my way... I am planning to soon have a way to feature them once in a while!  As I am getting back in the swing of blogging, I several new ideas for features to start up soon.

rethinking space

After being away from the blog for an entire month, I have finally caught up and getting back to routine with work, the shop, exercise, and everything else. I have been very busy working with a number of new customers on wedding invitations, shower invitations, save the dates, custom art, and more. It has been a whirlwind couple of months, but lots of fun!

When I moved into my loft, I hadn’t planned on dedicating a space for an office/studio. Now that I have been there almost six months, I have realized the need to rethink that idea. 

Of course, what else would I do but turn to Pinterest?!  I am just beginning to get a few ideas, but know that the starting point must be to get a desk or table for some work surface. Wouldn't it just be easier if I could snap my fingers and just have the perfect space?! (Only in my dreams, I know!)

lights of Christmas

Christmas is almost here. I hope you have all your shopping done and gifts wrapped.  If so, you are definitely ahead of me.  I will get there somehow, though.  I love this time of year for several reasons, but one is all the beautiful Christmas lights.  Even the bad Christmas lights are fun.  All the lights just add a glow to the dark nights of winter.  Do you go all out with the decorations or keep it minimal and simple?

three weekends?!

I don't know about you, but I am having struggling terribly with the time change this year.  I never like the dark being so early, but normally after a week I do okay with the change.  This year, it just isn't kicking in for me.  Am I the only one having trouble this year? 

And around the corner... is Christmas!  I cannot believe that there are only three weekends between now and Christmas.  It doesn't even seem possible.  I'll be in a mad rush to get my shopping done in time.  Guess it is officially time to start going through some gift guides and compiling some of my own!  Let the gifting purchases begin....
